Salt of the Earth Halotherapy
Salt Therapy is a 100% safe, effective, non-invasive and drug free way of using salt’s natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and super absorbent properties to provide relief for respiratory and skin conditions.
Salt Therapy is an inhalation of kinetically activated pure dry salt particles. Dry salt is super absorbent and anti-bacterial. These micro sized salt particles travel deep into the respiratory system and absorb excess moisture, remove allergens, toxins and foreign substances, break up stagnated mucus, restore the function of cilia and widen the airways.
Salt also reduces inflammation and opens airway passages making it easier to breathe. Regular and consistent Salt Therapy helps to expand the lung capacity, increase the oxygen intake, and boost endurance and can reduce use of medications.
You can wear whatever you have on for the day, but light-colored comfy clothes are best. The salt on your clothing is easily brushed off and shouldn't harm clothes in the washer. Before entering the salt room, you may leave your personal belongings in the cubbies before putting on your shoe covers to protect the clean salt environment. You can also take off your shoes and walk barefoot to enjoy the natural Himalayan salt on the floor. When you walk in, there will be salt on the floor and salt bricks on the wall.
You can relax in a comfortable zero-gravity chair with dim lighting. As you get comfy, a grinder (halogenerator) will come on to deliver a fine salt aerosol throughout the 45-minute session. Inhalation of the salt particles can clear the respiratory tract of sticky mucus, widen airways, reduce inflammation, normalize pH levels, and reduce edema. You may notice a slight taste of salt on your tongue and increased drainage or coughing. This is your body clearing out mucus and toxins. When the session is over, a staff member will come open the door and offer water to flush your system and rehydrate.
